MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute) est une fenêtre qui permet aux Occidentaux de savoir ce qui se dit dans les médias du Moyen-Orient. De plus, il se propose de fournir une analyse originale des tendances de Moyen-Orient sur les plans politique, idéologique, intellectuel, social, culturel et religieux. Cet institut a notamment joué un rôle clé pour faire connaître Wafa Sultan. Selon elle, MEMRI permet au reste du monde de connaître la véritable nature de la situation périlleuse du Moyen-Orient. « MEMRI bridges the language gap which exists between the West and the Middle East, providing timely translations of Arabic, Persian, Urdu-Pashtu, and Turkish media, as well as original analysis of political, ideological, intellectual, social, cultural, and religious trends in the Middle East. » (tiré du site de MEMRI). « Points de Repères » se propose de traduire en français quelques-unes des ressources de MEMRI.
